Continuing Education for Judges

You have selected a Continuing Education course for Judges. It may take one of the following three types:

  • Judges Round Table
  • Judges Clinic
  • Judges Webinar (in development)

These events are open to all certified judges and those who wish to become certified, although the level of discussion will be most suitable for experienced judges.

Round tables, clinics and webinars may be used in place of, or in addition to, traditional seminars by certified judges to gather Continuing Education points toward recertification. They may not be used for initial certification, which requires that the applicant attend a seminar.

Some of the topics at the seminar will be chosen by the organizer from a list of approved topics, and some may be selected in response to the interests and needs of the participants.

The organizer of the event will be in touch with you to discuss logistics and may ask you to be prepared to lead a discussion on one of the topics. They will also provide any materials you may need to prepare. You should plan to take your copy of The Racing Rules of Sailing and the US Sailing Judges Manual with you.

The Judge Continuing Education Events are free of charge for Certified Judges ONLY. A $25 administrative fee to US Sailing will be charged to uncertified members. An additional amount may be added by the organizer to cover expenses such as food or materials.
