Farrah Hall

Farrah is a life-long athlete with a resume of youth competition in swimming, running, and triathlon, and is currently a competitor in the RS:X Olympic windsurfing discipline.  As a college student, she was introduced to windsurfing by two-time Olympic medalist Mike Gebhardt and was instantly hooked on the sport.

Farrah comes from a non-sailing family but grew up near the water in the outskirts of Annapolis, where she taught herself to windsurf at age 16 on old-school equipment. After graduating high school, she learned how to teach beginner windsurfing lessons working for a shop called Wind’s Up on Martha’s Vineyard. During college at St. Mary’s College of Maryland she started a windsurfing club, sourcing donations for the equipment and teaching all students who wanted to learn. The club is still active today, 20 years later, and she considers it to be her best accomplishment in the sport.

Since Farrah’s modest beginnings, she has brought her passion for windsurfing to both American and international windsurfing communities. Not only has she campaigned in four Olympic quadrenniums (2008-2020), Farrah has also trained with and coached other Olympic aspirants and all kinds of motivated windsurfers. Her goal is to be a great all-around windsurfer and coach across the different disciplines of windsurfing such as freestyle, freeride and windfoil. By improving her quality of knowledge, ability, and system of coaching and creating access to high-level instruction to train both coaches and sailors, her vision is to spread the love and understanding of windsurfing everywhere she goes.

Farrah raced at the 2012 London Olympic Games for Team USA. More recently, she represented Team USA at the 2019 Pan American Games and is Team USA’s selected athlete in Women’s RS:X for Tokyo 2020.
