Charlotte Rose

Charlotte Rose was born in Bangkok, Thailand and moved to Houston, Texas at the age of three. She grew up playing a wide variety of sports and enjoyed the competitive nature athletics provided. When she was six, her family bought a Catalina 32 and she spent weekends sailing together on Galveston Bay. At age nine, Charlotte’s parents signed her up for an overnight camp at Houston Yacht Club where she learned how to sail an Opti. She competed in Optis until the age of 12 before moving into the Laser Radial.

Charlotte’s Radial career thus far has been nothing short of extraordinary. She is balancing Olympic sailing with college sailing and academics at the University of Jacksonville, and has the drive and determination to make every moment of training count. A product of US Sailing’s Olympic Development Program, Charlotte won the Youth Worlds in both 2017 and 2018 and finished in the top 10 (and top American) at the 2019 Radial Worlds. Most recently, Charlotte narrowly missed the Gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Games, coming away with the Silver medal after a very strong performance in Peru. As a young member of the US Sailing Team, Charlotte shows great promise and will be an exciting athlete to follow.
