Anna Weis learned to sail in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she was born and raised. She is a student at Boston University and was a member of their Women’s Rowing Team before deferring school to commit to a Nacra 17 campaign with her skipper, Riley Gibbs. Anna had surgery performed on both arms in early 2019, however, she was able to recover quickly and return to training. Just a couple months after the operation, she and Riley went on to win the Gold Medal at the Pan American Games Lima 2019. Riley and Anna have demonstrated their perseverance and success in the Nacra 17 class and hope to continue to do so as they work towards representing the country at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
