US Sailing Foundation – Home – United States Sailing Association

Sailing is evolving. At US Sailing, we're not just adapting . . .
we've changed our heading

To thrive, the sport of sailing must inspire new sailors and grow participation in all types and at all levels of sailing, while upholding the highest standards of excellence and fairness.

The US Sailing Foundation will secure the financial resources required for US Sailing to innovate solutions and revitalize sailing by developing active, adaptable lifelong sailors.

The current context

Throughout the sailing community, there is deep concern over the sustainability of our sport, but the fragmented nature of sailing makes common solutions and unified action elusive. The result is a sport that is fractured, experiencing little growth and losing relevance in today's culture.

Access to sailing

To launch new sailors of all ages and backgrounds into a lifetime on the water, US Sailing is a partner and resource for every kind of sailing organization.

Training & Education

A lifetime on the water is a lifetime spent learning new skills. The highest standards in training and education means that all sailors can access our progressively designed curriculum to learn new skills - from the fundamentals to the most advanced.

Competitive Excellence

The USA holds the highest medal count amongst any sailing nation and we aim to keep it that way. Through our Olympic Sailing initiative we’re striving to maintain our stature on the Olympic stage.
