COURSE LOCATION: ______________________ COURSE DATE: ___________

The two-day Sailing Counselor Course is designed to prepare sailing counselors for supervising small boat recreational sailing activities conducted typically by camps on sheltered and protected waters. It is NOT a comprehensive sailing instructor certification course and you must be at least 14 years old to participate.

The primary emphasis of the course is on safety, and there is a good deal of hands-on sailing practice to familiarize and/or brush-up sailing counselors in proper terminology and sailing technique. The hands-on sailing activities will provide you with some well-coached personal sailing skill practice from a highly qualified US SAILING certified Instructor Trainer. Many sailing drills provide a model for how a sailing counselor like you might structure actual sailing activities for campers.
