Youth Sailing

Youth sailing is the future of our sport. US Sailing is committed to ensuring that young people learn how to sail from certified instructors in a safe and fun environment. We have set the standard for youth sailing programs in the U.S.

US Sailing is focused on actively providing access to sailing opportunities for youth. Young sailors in search of skill development, quality coaching instruction, great competition, and a fun time on and off the water, will find a special experience at US Sailing youth racing events.  The USA Junior Olympic Sailing Festival (JO) and the US Sailing Championships series collectively organize a combined 27 regattas around the country for youth sailors each year. Most of these racing events are accompanied by clinics and presentations from US Sailing appointed coaches and instructors.

We are also researching new ways to introduce the sport to newcomers, as well as keeping them engaged and interested.

US Sailing will be launching the new CleverPig.org for youth sailors. The website specializes in providing news and resources for young sailors interested in starting an Olympic campaign.
