NAUTICA ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE GENERAL
APPAREL SPONSORSHIP
WITH US SAILING AND US SAILING TEAMS
Lifestyle Brand Affirms Its Brand
Heritage
New York, New York, June 23, 2005 – Nautica International, Inc. has
signed an exclusive agreement with US SAILING, the national governing
body of the sport of sailing, to be the “Official General Apparel
Supplier” of the US Sailing Teams. The US Sailing Teams are comprised
of: the US Sailing Team, the US Disabled Sailing Team and the US Youth
World Team. As part of the multi-year partnership, Nautica will outfit
these top sailors in the country with a complete dress and sportswear
wardrobe as they compete in world-class regattas at home and abroad.
Nautica has been closely associated with the sailing community since it
was founded in 1983, and this expanded sponsorship agreement reaffirms
the authenticity and heritage of the apparel brand.
In addition to the apparel sponsorship of the US Sailing Teams, Nautica
is also sponsoring the following US SAILING events and will provide
specially designed event clothing for the judges, umpires, club
officials, volunteers and clinic coaches at these events:
U.S. Youth
Sailing Championship - The U.S.
Youth Sailing Championship to be held June 23-30 at Cedar Point Yacht
Club in Westport, CT is the premiere youth sailing event in the country
for sailors under age 20.
U.S. Team Racing Championship – The U.S. Team Racing
Championship, scheduled for October 14-16, 2005 at the Larchmont Yacht
Club in Larchmont, NY, attracts the best team racers in the country. The
winning team qualifies for the ISAF (International Sailing Federation)
World Team Racing Championship held every two years.
Rolex Miami OCR – The Rolex Miami OCR, scheduled for January 2006
in Miami, FL features racing in the events selected for the next Olympic
and Paralympic Games and draws elite sailors, Olympic medalists and
future Olympic hopefuls from around the world as they prepare for the
upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Regattas. The regatta is also a
qualifying event for the 2006 US Sailing Team and US Disabled Sailing
Team.

About the US Sailing Teams
Created in 1986, the US Sailing Team recruits and develops athletes for
upcoming Olympiads. It annually distinguishes the top-five ranked
sailors in each of the classes chosen for Olympic competition. The US
Disabled Sailing Team, created in 1998 to develop athletes for
Paralympic competition, annually recognizes the top-three ranked sailors
