Building upon its support of the 2012 US Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Program, the St. Francis Yacht Club is the first gold medal partner yacht club of the 2013-2016 Olympic cycle. With the funds raised at the Golden Spinnaker Gala in September 2014, the Board of Directors of the Sailing Foundation of New York increased their support level from Silver to Gold, demonstrating their continued commitment to the pathway development plans of the US Olympic Sailing Program. Additionally, the ongoing support of the New York Yacht Club community, both at the Gala and beyond, renews their status as a Gold Level Partner through the next Olympic Games. These pledges continue SFNY and NYYC’s long-time support for Olympic and Paralympic sailing.
In a strong demonstration of its commitment to US Olympic sailing, California Yacht Club (CYC) has chosen to support the US Sailing Team Sperry as a Gold Medal Partner Club. Renewing their commitment to the team from the last Olympic quad, American Yacht Club raised $120,000 for the team at a fundraiser in September of 2015 and is the latest club to join the ranks as a Gold Yacht Club Partner.
