The Olympic Sailing Committee (OSC) of US SAILING, national governing body for the sport, is looking for 2 volunteer coaches to support the athletes it will send to the XV Pan American Games, scheduled for July 13-29, 2007, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil  This event, coordinated by US SAILING and supported by the US Olympic Committee, is held once every four years.  The coaches will work closely with the Team Leader and the Team Administrator to plan and prepare the Team for the Games.  The events chosen for the 2007 Games are:  Laser (men), Laser Radial (women), RS:X (men & women), Sunfish (Open), Hobie 16 (open), Snipe (open), Lightning (open), and J/24 (open).  Selection Trials have already begun, with the announcement of the team expected in early Spring 2007.

 

The 2 Assistant Coach positions for the 2007 Pan Am Sailing Team are volunteer positions, with travel and onsite accommodations covered. Interested coaches can apply by submitting a coaching resume and cover letter via e-mail to High Performance Director Gary Bodie (garybodie@aol.com) by November 10, 2006. A panel appointed by the OSC will review the resumes and notify all applicants by November 22, 2006.
