U.S. Olympic Sailing
Terms & Conditions
- Credit for benefits will be calculated on a fiscal year of June 1 to May 31. Gifts must be postmarked by May 31 of the year in question, or received by May 31 if delivered by other means.
- Club benefits will be given the year of or the year after a club reaches medalist status.
- Club benefits are grouped in the following ways:
a. Group 1 Benefits are annual benefits, and include the USST Clinic, the Gary Jobson Presentation, and the OSC Visit. These will be awarded in the fiscal year following a club's qualification at appropriate level in this program.
b. Group 2 Benefits are one-time benefits, and include the tickets to Spectator Boats at the Olympic Trials, tickets to the Olympic Trials Reception with the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Teams, and signed flags and photos. These will be awarded in 2007 and 2008.
c. Group 3 Benefits are on-going benefits, and include recognition at US SAILING Annual General Meetings, all advertising, branding and OSC-provided content. These will be awarded from the point a club qualifies in the Program and will continue until the conclusion of the following fiscal year. - It is the intention of the OSC for benefits to yacht clubs to be delivered and received in the year of or the year following their qualification. However, if dates for events cannot be mutually agreed to, then both parties may agree to extend to extend the window for one additional year.
- Jackets and Medals - Available to individuals who reach gold, silver or bronze medalist status. Maximum of one flag and medal per donor, per year.
- Tickets on Olympic Trials Spectator Boats and Tickets to Olympic Trials Reception with 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Teams - Available to yacht clubs or individuals that meet gold, silver or bronze medalist status any year during the quadrennium. Total tickets awarded will be based on the total amount given over a fiscal year. A sailor's lunch will be provided aboard spectator boats, with a no-host bar for all beverages. This benefit does not include transportation or accommodations. Schedule and race course viewing to be determined, once the 2007 Olympic Trials site is determined. It is the OSC's intent to monitor individual donors' and clubs' interests and accommodate them as often as possible.
- Recognition at US SAILING Meetings - This benefit does not include transportation or accommodations.
- Sailing Clinics - The OSC will pay all expenses. The clinic will be two days and will be conducted by a member of the US Sailing Team. Maximum one clinic per club, per year.
- OSC Visits - The OSC will pay all expenses. Maximum one OSC visit per club, per year.
- Gary Jobson Presentation - The OSC will pay all expenses. Maximum one presentation per club, per year.
- "Thank You" Advertising - The OSC will place advertisements in sailing industry publications thanking our partner yacht clubs on an annual basis. The OSC will design and pay all expenses.
- OSC-Provided Content for YC Newsletters and Websites - The OSC will provide quarterly updates on the progress of the Olympic Program for all partner yacht clubs for use on the club's website or printed newsletters. The OSC will produce the content and distribute it to partner yacht clubs.
- Recognition as a Yacht Club Partner on Olympic Website - The OSC will recognize its current partner clubs on its website. The OSC will pay all expenses for operating, maintaining and updating its own site, and will carry links to the websites of partner clubs.
- Designation as a Yacht Club Partner in Club's Own Marketing and Branding Efforts - The OSC Grants the right to current Partner Yacht Club's to display their designation as a Yacht Club Partner on its own website, stationary and other forms of branding. Clubs shall designate themselves as a "US Sailing Teams Partner Club", and may use the US Sailing Team logo in their club publications, following approval for use by US SAILING. The OSC assumes no responsibility for marketing or branding expenses for Partner Yacht Clubs.
- The OSC reserves the right to use its judgment to increase these benefits and make adjustments in special circumstances for significant donations.
