US SAILING
The Olympic Sailing Committee (2005 - 2008)

The Olympic Sailing Committee (OSC) is responsible for the selection of the Olympic Sailing Team, the Paralympic Sailing Team, the Pan American Games and World University Games Teams, and the annually designated US Sailing Teams. The OSC Chairman is appointed by the Olympic Transition Committee for a specific quadrennium. The Committee is comprised of Olympians along with representatives from each of the Olympic class organizations and others appointed for their specific expertise (e.g. sports medicine, coaching, fundraising). In addition, members of the committee are elected by athletes who have represented the U.S. at a recent Olympic or Pan Am Games. The OSC operates on a four-year budget, the principal requirement of which is that it be revenue neutral over four years. The OSC decides how to distribute all Olympic-related funds, whether from the U.S. Olympic Committee, sponsorship, contributions or the general US SAILING budget.
