Scoring:
|
-
Must sail, must
count the minimum number of events as specified for each class
above.
-
Final Finish
Position (not net points) counts towards Series Standings.
-
Low Point Series
Scoring using RRS rule A4.1, except that Final Finish Position
will be used instead of individual race scores. RRS rules A4.2
and A9 are specifically NOT in force for the series
scoring.
-
All boats count
as place holders in the Final Finish Position. (Men, Women, Mixed,
International)
-
If there is a
series score tie between two or more boats, the tie shall be
broken in favor of the boat with the better finish at Rolex Miami
OCR.
-
If less than
three eligible teams or individuals compete in the minimum number
of events to qualify for the team, the Olympic Sailing Committee
may name fewer than three teams or individuals to the Team.
Additional Scoring Policies
-
In order to count towards series
score, helm and crew members must be eligible to represent the USA
in the 2008 Paralympic Games.
-
For triplehanded teams, two
of the three sailors, including the helm must be the same at all
of the qualifying events that are counted towards the ranking.
-
In extremely unusual circumstances
such as a medical emergency, the OSC ExCom may approve an
exception to this policy.
Non Events
-
If the
Rolex Miami OCR is a non event, the OSC will announce new
procedures for team Qualification, which may include existing
and/or new qualifying events.
-
If
the Disabled Midwinters
is a non event, the system will
become must sail, must count Rolex Miami OCR.
