DO YOU HAVE ANY FAMILY MEMBERS WHO SAIL?
Zachary Railey, 22, is campaigning for the 2008 Olympic Games in the Finn class.
HOW AND WHEN DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN SAILING?
When I used to go to my brother’s Opti Regattas, I always knew I wanted to sail. When I turned 8 years old, my mom enrolled me in a Learn to Sail program.
WHO HAS BEEN THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON IN YOUR SAILING CAREER AND WHY?
My friend Olivia Cerealo. She and I sailed together on our local yacht club team. She became ill with bone cancer and died at 16 year old. She taught me to enjoy life and to take every minute as a true blessing, so I take her advice and use it with my sailing: train hard, sail fast, but most of all, have fun and enjoy it.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO PURSUE AN OLYMPIC SAILING CAMPAIGN?
I have always had dreams of going to the Olympics and winning a Gold medal. This dream keeps me going.
