Tim Healy will lead the J/24 team of Gordon Borges, Davenport Crocker, Jr., and Nick Judson at the Pan Am Games. It will be his first time at the Games but not his first time sailing with these friends. Together, they claimed second at the 2002 J/24 Worlds.  Healy, with Borges as crew, also won the J/24 North American Championship in 2000 and again in 2001 with both Borges and Judson crewing.

"We’ve been sailing solidly as a team for two seasons," says Healy, a three-time ICSA All-American from St. Mary’s College and the 1997 Lightning North American Champion, "which is key in the J/24 class especially.  We expect the Pan Am Games to be highly competitive, with some big names from South America, and a good experience from the perspective of representing the U.S.A. at this big of a sporting event."  Born in Hartford, Conn., he graduated from East Lyme High School and St. Mary's College of Maryland.  He works at North Sails and is a member of Niantic Bay Yacht Club.

For Borges, the motivation for sailing with such commitment is the "desire to compete at the highest levels of my sport."  Born in Philadelphia, Borges graduated from Desales High School and the University of Rochester.  He works as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch.

Crocker, who has been sailing with his parents since birth and on his own since age 8, says that as far back as he remembers, he has made conscious decisions to surround himself with the best people in everything he tackles.  A three-year J/24 campaign with skipper Terry Hutchinson culminated in his being part of Hutchinson’s winning team at the 1988 J/24 World Championships.  As for his Pan Am Games mindset, the challenge of competing against sailors from all parts of the world "simply raises the bar and sets new challenges that haven’t been faced before."  Born in Boston, Crocker attended St. Mark's School and Lake Forest College.  He is a real estate consultant for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and is a member of Cohasset Yacht Club.

With a French/English/Lithuanian heritage, Judson has a desire to be the “best that I can in any discipline.”
Born in Utrecht, The Netherlands, Judson is executive director for the non-profit Nantucket Community Sailing, Inc.  He graduated from Middlesex School and University of North Carolina and is a member of Nantucket Yacht Club.
