The ISAF World Sailing Games will be held from 10 - 20 May 2006, on Lake Neusiedl, Austria

The first ISAF World Sailing Championship was held in La Rochelle, FRA in 1994, with subsequent events held in Dubai, UAE in 1998 and in Marseille, FRA in 2002 when the name of the event was changed to ISAF World Sailing Games. This regatta is set to be a spectacular sailing event. The  organizers hope to attract 1,500 sailors and coaches from 80 nations, 10 World Championship titles are up for grabs, and more than 100,000 visitors are expected.

The equipment used is chosen by ISAF as representing the most popular types Worldwide and is supplied by the manufacturers for the duration of the event, except for the 49er. 49er sailors will be supplied with sails, but must bring their own boat.  The equipment is circulated amongst the competitors between each group of races to ensure unprecedented fairness.
