Scoring: |
1. Must
sail and must count Rolex Miami OCR
2. Final Finish Position (not net points) counts towards Series
Standings.
3. Low Point Series Scoring based on Finish Positions in #2
above.
4. All boats count as placeholders. (Men, Women, Mixed,
International)
5. Ties on series score to be broken in favor of the boat with
the better finish at Rolex Miami OCR.
6. If less than five eligible teams or individuals compete in
the minimum number of events to qualify
for the team, the Olympic Sailing Committee (OSC)
may name fewer than five teams or individuals
to the Team.Additional Scoring Policies for multi-crewed classes:
1. In order to count towards series score, helm and crew members
must be eligible to represent the
USA in the 2004 Olympic Games.
2. Teams are encouraged to sail with the same helm and crew at
each of the qualifying regattas.
3. If teams sail with different helm or crew at different
events, the combination which sails together
at the Rolex Miami OCR will be presumed to be the team
that qualifies for the US Sailing Team.
4. Teams which are unable to sail together at the Rolex Miami OCR, may
apply to the OSC --
prior to the Rolex Miami OCR -- for an exception, provided they
will sail together at one or more
of the other qualifying events, and provided that the substitute team
member at the Rolex Miami
OCR is in agreement.
5. By prior written application, the OSC may score helm and crew
separately.
Non Events
1. If the Rolex Miami OCR is a non-event, the OSC will announce new
procedures for team
Qualification, which may include existing and/or new
qualifying events.
2. If an event other than the Rolex Miami OCR is a non-event, the OSC may
adjust the system.
