decision has been reached.
5 ODCC Members in House of Delegates, Councils, and Committees – James
Appel
James reviewed our representatives to the various US SAILING Committees.
6 ISAF Issues – Charley Cook
6.1 Midyear Meeting (May)
Charley does not expect any significant issues at that meeting.
6.2 ISAF Annual Meeting (November)
Charley expects that there will be much information and discussion that will
occur before the ISAF meeting because the ISAF meeting will precede the US
SAILING Meeting.
7 Class Database Through US SAILING Database – James Appel
One new usage of the US SAILING IT program is an ability of classes to help
sign up their members through the US SAILING Database and web site. This is
still in the planning stages.
8 Solicitation Classes Who Have Received USSF Funding – James Appel
James discussed the need for more fundraising efforts and also highlighted
the ability of sailors participating in international events to receive funding
through USSF. The applications must be made through the class association.
9 New Business
The Council discussed a variety of topics.
9.1 Conduct of Championships
The Council discussed the tools available to assure that classes run quality
national events. The Council cannot mandate requirements, but there are
materials available, such as the Class Management Handbook, that include ideas
on running high quality events.
10 Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 AM on Friday 17-Mar-06. The next meeting
of the Council will be on Thursday 16-Nov-06 in Newport, RI.
Respectfully Submitted,
