DIFFERENTIAL ENTRY FEES (DEF)

- A US SAILING Member Benefit

As a member of US SAILING, racing sailors enjoy discounted entry fees at many regattas. We need the help of all event organizers in delivering this benefit. Here’s an overview of the DEF program:

  • DEF is a discount to US SAILING members, not an added fee for non-members.
  • The minimum recommended discount is $5 or 10% of the entry fee, whichever is greater.
  • The only exceptions to DEF are:
    • regattas with no entry fees
    • youth and junior events
    • charity events (e.g., Hospice, Leukemia Cup)
    • regattas that require US SAILING membership
    • events for sailors with disabilities
  • Clubs that purchase US SAILING-endorsed insurance and Golden Anchor Clubs are required to use DEF.

Regatta Organizers: Thank you for your help in ensuring US SAILING members can take advantage of this benefit!

NOTE: Foreign competitors that belong to their own National Authority pay US SAILING member rate for entry fees.
