ENCOURAGING PARTICIPATION AND PROMOTING EXCELLENCE
IN SAILING
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR U.S. JUNIOR WOMEN'S DOUBLEHANDED CHAMPIONSHIP Since the U.S. Junior Women's Doublehanded
Championship was first held in 1995, the list of past winners of the event
is filled with names of junior women's sailors now known throughout the
sailing community. Registration for the 2007 U.S. Junior Women's
Doublehanded Championship for the Ida Lewis Trophy is now open. The event
will be held at Pontchartrain Yacht Club in Mandeville, LA, and will be
preceded by a clinic. Sponsored by Vanguard Sailboats and raced in Club
420s, this Championship is an open event for women sailors between 13 and 18
years old and no pre-qualification is required. Charters will be awarded
based on date of application and distance to those who register by May 1st.

With several qualifying regattas for the 2007 US Sailing Team completed last
weekend, the rankings for the 2007 US Sailing Team are nearly complete (the
Laser rankings will be completed after the Laser Midwinters East later this
month). The US Sailing Team recognizes the top three teams in each Olympic
class. ROLEX MIAMI OCR PARTICIPANTS BENEFIT FROM INSURANCE PROGRAM

The New England Chapter of the Club Managers Association of America and US
SAILING have teamed up to host the first-ever 2007 East Coast Yacht Club
Symposium for yacht club managers at New York Yacht Club in Newport, RI,
from April 22-25. Learn more about dock & waterfront regulatory matters as
well as emergency and hurricane preparedness, and listen to keynote speaker
Gary Jobson. This is a tremendous opportunity for yacht club managers to
participate in educational sessions conducted by noted leaders in our
