kick off at Gulfport Yacht Club in Florida (April 22-26), sailed in brand-new
Capricorn F18s - supplied by Fun in the Sun. Take a quick glance at the list of
registered sailors and you'll see a few names you might have seen before. Last
year's winners John Casey and John Williams are anxious to defend their title;
17-year-old Evan Miller (runner-up at the Youth Worlds qualifier earlier this
year and this week's US SAILOR of the Week) will be looking to make a splash;
and many other familiar faces from previous U.S. Multihull Championships will be
on the starting line, including Leandro Spina, John Tomko, Olli & Kelly Jason,
Bill Gillespie & Colin Page, and more.

Evan Miller |
US SAILOR of the
Week - Evan Miller
Evan Miller is on the fast track to a
promising racing career, literally. As a multihull sailor since 2001, Evan has
achieved some impressive results. In the last few years he has competed in the
U.S. Youth Multihull Championship, he has consistently filled the top one or two
positions. His second-place finish in the event earlier this year produced an
invite to the U.S. Multihull Championship scheduled for next week in Gulfport,
FL. The 17-year-old Panama City, FL, high school junior is excited, "The best
catamaran sailors in the U.S. will be there and it will be a great experience."
The nationwide competition shouldn't phase him...

Cruising and Seamanship Comes to Life on CD
Bill Gladstone and John Rousmaniere put cruising
technique in full motion in this North U Cruising Seminar CD. The combination of
animated graphics, photos and hours of video bring cruising and seamanship
topics to life. The CD covers the full range of sail trim, heavy weather and
safety topics covered in our classroom seminars. You will see how changes in
sail trim change sailing performance and understand why anchor scope is critical
to holding. The CD will put you onboard at night and show how to decipher lights
in your path. You'll be caught in a storm and see how to sail through it. The
Cruising Seminar on CD is narrated by Bill Gladstone. US SAILING members: $35;
non-members: $40.
