The Council of Sailing Associations, CSA, is the outgrowth of early attempts by individual sailors, yacht clubs and sailing associations to cooperate and coordinate local regattas and sailing activities. Over the years these local groups have grown to 38 regional sailing associations (RSA's). These regions are organized into 11 Areas established by US SAILING. The CSA is made up of representatives of the 38 RSAs and eleven Area Directors elected by the CSA. The eleven Area Directors also serve in the US SAILING House of Delegates. Organized from the "ground up," CSA refers to itself as a "ladder" organization. We sponsor the championship events that start at the local level, work up a "ladder" through Regions and Areas and lead to eight adult and junior national championships. Internal CSA committees include Services Review, Nominating and Web Liaison. In addition, CSA is represented on these US SAILING committees:
