Terms of Reference

The Marketing and Communications Committee provides counsel on strategy and implementation of the Marketing and Communications programs of US SAILING.  Committee members provide counsel, help determine priorities, and support the efforts of the Marketing and Communications staff.  Committee members also solicit feedback on and serve as advocates for Marketing and Communications programs. 

1. The Marketing and Communications Committee oversees, and assists with the development of, US SAILING’s message to members, potential members, non-members, the industry and the press.

2. The Committee oversees the media through which US SAILING communicates and recommends the channels through which the message should be communicated.

3. A volunteer appointed by the President and approved by the Board of Directors chairs the Committee.

4. The Committee shall consist of the following persons:
The Chairman of the General Services Committee, US SAILING’s Webmaster, A person elected by the Web Liaisons, a nominee of the Olympic Sailing Committee and additional persons invited by the Chair and approved by the President and the Board.

5. The Committee shall meet at the Annual and Spring Meetings of US SAILING. The Committee may also meet at the call of the Chair.

6. The Marketing and Communications Committee reports to the General Services Committee.

7. The Committee liaises with US SAILING’s Marketing and Communications staff.
