Day 1, 2, 3, 4

Day one of racing at Miami Yacht Club produced perfect racing conditions for cats in 10-14 knots of wind. Beautiful sunny skies and no hurricanes this year so what could be better than this? With 20 races scheduled, race day one has the Newberry sisters in first place with 3 points. Zachary Grant and Justin Mitchell are tied for second place with Graham Gardner and Sam Ingham with 6 points.

Beach Captain Jamie Livingston and regatta coach Mike Ingham have an island at their disposal just a few yards away from the start/finish line. This island is providing easy access to the sailors for the exchange of boats after each race. PRO Paul Ulibarri is running races three times around a windward mark and leeward gate. Each race is about 45 minutes so after six races, the race committee has had a long day.

Tomorrow racing starts at 1000 hrs and the weatherman predicts perfect conditions again.
