National Chair & Area Representative Roles
 

The National Chair is the individual who:

  • Makes sure the championship adheres to US SAILING Championship requirements


  • Receives, evaluates bids, and proposes future host clubs to their committee


  • Submits Rolex clinic requests and summaries after the clinic


  • Picks judges and ensures that Race Officers have the appropriate certification


  • Approves the Notice of Race


  • Develop or amends Conditions as needed


  • Creates entry form (for ladder events)


  • Verifies posting of quarter- and semi-finals on US SAILING site


  • Supports the host club's event chair


  • Attends the championship


  • Returns US SAILING merchandise


  • Has Trophy Accountability form signed and returns it to US SAILING.
         (If the form isn't signed, returns the trophy to US SAILING)


  • Writes final report on status of championship to bring to the AGM


  • Attends the AGM and Spring Meetings



  • Note:
    No person may serve as a member of the protest committee or as the principal race officer at an event in which any competitor in the event is a close relative'. (see Race Management)
