U.S.  Women's Sailing  Championship 2006

It was a Californian sweep at the end as Area G's team of Vicki Sodaro (Tiburon, CA),Stephanie Wondolleck (San Rafael, CA), Karina Vogen Shelton (Watsonville, CA), Emily French (Santa Cruz, CA) representing Northern California won the 2006 U.S. Women's Championship for the Mrs. Charles Francis Adams Trophy.  This was the second time Vick Sodaro has won the Adams Cup as it is known, one of the oldest women's sporting trophies in the United States.

 

After a disapointing day on Friday, Area J's  Susan Taylor (Los Angeles, CA), Kellie Fennessy (Torrance, CA), Denise George (Los Angeles,CA) and Michelle Ondrey (Santa Monica, CA) got a sixth place finish in the final race and will take home the Mrs. Willis Woods Trophy.

 

In third place and winner of the Alexander Guest Trophy was Area B's  team of Anne Mooney (Oyster Bay, NY), Christina Blaise(Locust Valley, NY), Alexandra Hahn (Oyster Bay, NY) and Nina DeNigris (Oyster Bay, NY).  The Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club team also took home the Francis McElwain Wakeman Sportsmanship Award. 

 

South Carolina's team of Sarah Wilkins Weiss (Lexington, SC), Alecia Milling (Columbia, SC), Carrie Finch (Columbia, SC), and Allison Calhoun (Lexington, SC) won the Seamanship Prize.
