Daily Reports

Day 1 – April 13, 2005

Conditions: Light winds and fog
The morning started out light and foggy, so foggy in fact that the Congressional Cup fleet who are sailing nearby couldn't be seen.  The fleet was sent in until the fog burned off and after a quick lunch, headed out to the area behind the breakwater where the racing is set.

The racing has been light air so far with breezes only building to about 16 knots during the afternoon and then dying off. The sailors were on the water until the early evening to complete the day's racing.

John Williams, the U.S. Multihull Championship chair reported that the new boat rotation scheme that was instituted this year has been very successful.

The forecast for Day 2 is for more light air from the southeast and another sunny Southern California day.
