US SAILOR Of The
Week Martine Zurinskas |
Martine Zurinskas does it all - she is an accomplished Laser sailor, mom, wife, and daughter, as well as the junior sailing director at Lake Lanier Sailing Club in Flowery Branch, GA. Full of energy, her enthusiasm for the sport of sailing is contagious. To Martine, who began sailing at a young age, sailing is a family sport. She has the fondest memories of racing against her dad and brother while mom was on the support boat ready to serve lunch. For the last five years or so, Martine has been running the junior program at her club, where she enjoys turning kids into sailors for life. "What makes sailing so much fun is that it doesn't matter what type of boat you like to sail or whether you race or cruise, sailing is something you can do forever." At 33, Martine is an active Laser sailor and says she can't wait to turn 35 so she can be a Laser Master, "I'm tired of sailing against college kids!" she says with a big smile on her face. |
