US SAILOR Of The
Week Roy Disney |
When the Olympic Sailing Committee began its Medalist Donor Program to raise money for our US Sailing Team, Roy E. Disney had already been a long time supporter of junior sailing and individuals campaigning to compete in the Olympics. Recently retired from racing, Roy’s racing career included campaigning his yachts, Shamrock and Pyewacket, worldwide, setting records including the 2002 Newport to Bermuda Race and the 1999 Transpac. As a previous sponsor of our US SAILING Junior Championships, Roy understands the importance of getting kids out on the water, exposing them to high level coaching and national competition with a long-term view to winning Olympic medals and making lifelong sailors. Thank you Roy! |
