US SAILING's Executive Director Charlie Leighton (left) presents Gold Medal Donor and past New York Yacht Club Commodore Bob Stone with his medal

Just one year ago, US SAILING kicked off its Medalist Donor Program to raise money for the US Sailing Team. The goal of the program, and of US SAILING's Olympic Sailing Committee, is to enable our Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls to spend more time on the water by providing them with increased funding, improving the team’s chances of winning medals at the 2008 Summer Games in Qingdao, China.

Commodore Stone, known on the water for his many well-sailed yachts named Arcadia, was one of the lead Medalists in this campaign and in addition to his gift is helping the Committee raise additional funds. Thank you Commodore Stone!
