Last night's sunset made up for much of the foul weather we've been experiencing. The sky looked like it was ablaze!
This morning was partly cloudy and very blustery....similar to yesterday, but getting hot, not only on land, but on the race course as well.
Sarah Lihan tore the front page right off the books today. In Race 6, the second weather mark rounding, she had almost a 2 minute lead on Annie Haeger. The best boat-to-boat racing was between the 3rd and 11th place boats as they dueled it out, surfing waves and flying down. |

At the end of it all, it was Sarah Lihan who took home the Nancy Leiter Clagett Memorial Trophy while Anne Haeger qualified for the 2007 ISAF Youth Worlds, as Lihan will have aged out. Lihan said, "It didn't quite play out the way I'd hope it would as I will age out, but at least I got my name on the trophy." Haeger, while noting that it was kind of strange that the two were in the same positions as they were last year, when Lihan was 3rd and Haeger 4th, was "ecstatic" at qualifying.
