The Staton J. Peele Jr. Sportsmanship Trophy is awarded for sportsmanship both on and off the water, and was established in 1988 by the South Atlantic Yacht Racing Union. Staton Peele was an avid Lightning sailor who was elected chairman of the Mallory Committee in 1980. He had formerly served as commodore of the Southeastern District and as Area D coordinator. In 1979 he was appointed one of the first USYRU certified judges.

The Royal Victoria Yacht Club Trophy is awarded at the finals of the Mallory Cup for superior seamanship demonstrated by the crews of competing boats while underway and at mooring, with superior seamanship defined as superior use and care of the assigned boat. The trophy was established in 1998 by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club and George Robert Louis Worthington and the first recipient of the trophy was Ed Sweeney. This trophy is awarded by the chairperson of the Mallory Cup Committee.
