Thanks to the Palacios Yacht Club for hosting our Area F Alter Cup
Qualifier. The event went off very well with great sailing both days. On
Saturday, it was clear skies and sunny with wind out of the South at
5-12mph. With Steve Piche doing PRO we got in 5 races, getting us off the
water around 5:30 pm. Sunday morning the wind was out of the North with
storms rolling in from off shore. After a light wind postponement, the wind
filled in 5-7mph and we were able to proceed with one race before a squall
line came rolling in. We all raced for shore to get our masts down before
the lighting started. Although our event had 26 total boats, only 6 competed
for the Area F Qualifier. Thank you to all participants and race committee
for doing such a great job.
