1.
RULES
This event will be governed by the 2001-2004 ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing
(RRS); the Prescriptions of US SAILING; the US SAILING Multihull Championship Conditions;
and the Sailing Instructions, and for the Area Elimination, by each boats own
One-Design Class Rules.
2.
ALTERATIONS OF
RACING RULES
The
RRS, including penalties for breaking a rule, may be modified in accordance with RRS
86.1(a) and 86.1(b) for this event as described in the Sailing Instructions.
3.
ADVERTISING
This regatta is designated Category C in accordance with ISAF Advertising Code,
Regulation 20.
4.
ELIGIBILITY
AND ENTRY
All entrants MUST be members of US SAILING in order to be entered and scored in the
Alter Cup Area D Qualifier. Dues will be accepted with registration at this Area
Elimination. Competitors may participate as a helmsman in only one Area Elimination and
only in the Elimination for the Area in which they reside or regularly compete. No two
competitors may sail together in more than one Area Elimination. Any exception shall be
granted at the discretion of the Alter Cup Committee. This Area Elimination is open
to all single or multi-crew catamarans less than twenty-two feet in length having a
current US SAILING Portsmouth number. Boats with Provisional Portsmouth handicaps,
e.g., those with brackets [ ] or parentheses ( ) around their rating, are ineligible to
compete in Area Eliminations. Only boats in their original One-Design configuration are
eligible. Modifications requiring Portsmouth correction factors are not
allowed.

ADVANCE REGISTRATION
Teams may register early for the regatta by mailing copies of their Official
Entry Form used for their Area Elimination and the appropriate fees to: the Event Chairman, David Hoffman, c/o Pensacola

7.
FEES
Entry: $30.00 (singlehanded)
$35.00 (skipper & crew)
Non US SAILING members add $5.00
8.
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The Sailing Instructions will be provided at the time of registration.
9.
COURSES
Courses will be variations of triangle and/or windward-leeward courses as described in
the Sailing Instructions.
10. SCORING
Scoring shall be the Low Point scoring system in accordance with RRS 88.3 & RRS
Appendix A.
11. DECISIONS
OF THE JURY
Decisions of the jury at the Area Elimination will not be subject to appeal, in
accordance with RRS 70.4(a) and 70.4(b).
12. PRIZES
The qualified winning team of the Area D Qualifying Regatta shall be eligible to
compete in the National Championship for the Alter Cup.
13. LAUNCHING
AND CAMPING
Boats may be
launched out of the PYC harbor or left overnight on Sanders Beach.
Trailers may be stored behind the tennis court area.
Camping is permitted on PYC Grounds
