RULES
This regatta will be governed by the 1997-2000 ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing; the
Prescriptions of US SAILING; the US SAILING Multihull Championships Conditions; and the US
SAILING Multihull Championship Sailing Instructions and for the Area Elimination, by each
boats own One-Design Class Rules, except as any of these are modified by the Sailing
Instructions.
ALTERATIONS
OF RACING RULES
The Racing Rules, including penalties for breaking a rule, may be modified in accordance
with rule 86.1(a) & 86.1(b) for this event as described in the Sailing Instructions.
ADVERTISING
This regatta is designed Category B in accordance with Racing Rule 79 and Appendix G.
ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
All competitors including alternates MUST be members of US SAILING. Dues can be accepted with registration at the
regatta on June 10th. Competitors may participate as a helmsman in only one Area
Elimination and only in the elimination for the Area in which they reside or regularly
compete. No two competitors may sail together in more than one Area Elimination.
This regatta is open to all single or multi-crew catamarans under 22 feet in length with a
current US SAILING Portsmouth number. Boats with Provisional Portsmouth handicaps, e.g.,
those with brackets [ ] or parenthesis ( ) around their rating, are ineligible
to compete in this regatta. Only boats in
their original One-Design configuration are eligible. Modifications requiring Portsmouth
correction factors are not allowed.
The Official Entry Form must be used at
all event levels.

MEASUREMENT
Each team is responsible for insuring that the yacht they sail on in this regatta is in
compliance with its class rules.
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Available at the time of registration.
LOCATION
Houston Yacht Club, La Porte, TX. Regatta Headquarters will be located at the Pavilion on
the water (Kens Place), HYC, in combination with 2000 Galveston Bay Catamaran
Championships.
COURSES
Variation of triangle and/or windward-leeward courses as described in the Sailing
Instructions.
SCORING
Scoring shall be in accordance with the US Sailing Multihull Championship Sailing
Instructions.
DECISIONS OF THE JURY
Decisions of the jury at this Area Elimination will not be subject to appeal, in
accordance with rules 70.4(a) and 70.4(b).
PRIZES
The winning team will receive a perpetual trophy. Acceptance of the trophy requires
responsibility of returning the trophy to the 2001 Area F Championship.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three competitors.
