We will start racing on Saturday with Newsome sailing boat 1 in race 17 and
progressing down the list so Tannert will sail boat 10. Our next race will be Christensen
sailing boat 1 and Alter sailing boat 10. Because we always rotate the boats, our next
race of the day will have Tannert sailing boat 1 and Newsome sailing boat 10. On the final
race of the series Christensen will sail boat 10 with Alter sailing boat number 1. Sounds
confusing but really seems to work out very well and the racers like it so thats
what counts.

From Steve Leo:
How the scoring works:
There are 20 teams but only 10 boats. There has
been a round robin format developed that teams are assigned to boats in specific races,
making it so the teams sail against each other as equal number of times as possible and
don't sail the same boat twice. That is why you only see scores for each team in half the
races.
At the end of the day on Friday, the top ten
teams are placed in the Gold Fleet and 11-20 are in the Silver Fleet. There are four races
on Saturday. In races 1 and 3, the Silver Fleet sails and they are on different boats in
the two races. In races 2 and 4, the Gold Fleet sails again on different boats as assigned
on Friday night. The Silver Fleet sailors then have 10 points added to their finishes on
Saturday so the overall scoring is correct. Example: if Team A in Silver Fleet gets a 2nd,
they receive 12 points and so on.
From Roger Jenkins:
The wind was up for the Alter Cup on day three. Larry Harteck/Roger Jenkins
owned the day with three walking away bullets. But it would be too little too late. Other
winners today were: Enrique Figueroa, Doug Camp, and Brian Lambert
The run for the US grand prize of catamaran
sailing, the Alter Cup, seemed to be between 3-time Hobie 16 National Champ Keith
Christensen/Shala Youngerman; the Hero of Puerto Rico and 3-time World Champ Enrique
Figueroa/Pedro Colon, and "America's Team", number one ranked Robbie Daniel and
Glen Ross.
