Weather Conditions

 

Saturday, August 16

Day two of the U.S. Team Racing Championship was a totally different day on the water.  Racing began promptly at 10:00 with 8-10 knots of wind out of the north.   As the day progressed, the wind gradually shifted and built to a steady 12-14 knots out of the west/northwest.   

 

The seventeen teams finished the second rotation and began the third and final elimination round.  Leading teams at the end of the second rotation were as follows: The New York Yacht Club Silver Panda with 7 wins each, the Woonsocket Rockets with 7 wins each, West Kirby Hawks from the United Kingdom with 6 wins and the Larchmont Yacht Club with 5 wins.

 

Halfway through the third and final elimination round the New York Yacht Club Silver Panda team is unbeaten after 6 races.   Woonsocket Rockets,  Tannery Loungers, Tap N’ GO, and the Larchmont Yacht Club teams are all closely matched trying to real in the New York Yacht Club Silver Panda.  After two days of sailing, the race committee has successfully completed 148 team races.                                                  Results

 

On Sunday we intend to complete the third elimination rotation and end up with eight final teams.  These 8 teams will go through a quarter final, followed by a semi-final and final knockout eliminations process to determine the U.S. Team Racing Champion
