Candidate’s Statement

"The Board’s proposal to mandate US SAILING membership brought into focus strengths and weaknesses of our organization.  Financial performance has vastly improved, but membership remains flat and effective communication with members, problematic. To continue providing leadership for the sport of sailing, we must have a plan for growth.

This Board must critically evaluate all our programs, from U.S. Championships to Golden Anchor memberships, to ensure they are contributing to our mission.  We need to address what our current and future members want and need, not merely what we can offer them.  That will be key to growing our membership and our future."
